Growing up in Colorado, I’ve always loved the unique blend of flavors, creativity, and community that make our food scene so special. From cozy local favorites to hidden gems and unforgettable dining experiences, there’s always something new to discover. The Taste of Colorado is my collection of favorite spots that capture the heart, charm, and flavor of the place I’m proud to call home.

CARNE

2601 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

Carne is one of my favorite restaurants in RiNo, especially when I’m in the mood for an amazing steak. The quality of the food is exceptional, but what always stands out to me just as much is the design of the space. I love the interior—it feels rich, layered, and incredibly well done, with a balance of modern edge and warmth that fits RiNo perfectly.

Carne has that rare combination of incredible food and atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Whether it’s for a date night or dinner with friends, it feels elevated without being overly formal—and it’s easily one of my favorite spots in Denver for a steak.

JOVANINA'S BROKEN ITALIAN

1520 Blake St. Denver, CO 80202

Jovanina's Broken Italian is one of my favorite spots in Denver for Italian and a place that feels special from the moment you arrive. One of my favorite parts is walking down to the lower level—you’re led down candlelit stairs into a space that feels cozy, romantic, and full of charm. It creates such an intimate atmosphere and makes the entire experience feel memorable before you even sit down.

The food is just as inviting as the space, with comforting Italian dishes that feel elevated while still warm and approachable. Between the ambiance, incredible food, and unique character of the restaurant, Jovanina’s is one of those places I always look forward to coming back to.

THE BUFF RESTAURANT

2600 Canyon Blvd, Boulder, CO 80302

The Buff Restaurant is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Boulder and somewhere I’ve found myself coming back to again and again. It has that classic local feel—laid-back, welcoming, and always buzzing in the best way. It’s the kind of place that feels like a Boulder staple.

The menu has everything you could want from a great breakfast or brunch, and it’s one of my favorite places to start a slow Colorado morning. Between the cozy atmosphere, generous portions, and comfort-food classics, The Buff is one of those spots that feels easy to love whether you’re a local or just visiting Boulder.

KUMOYA

2400 W 32nd Ave, Denver, CO 80211

Kumoya in LoHi is one of my favorite sushi spots in Denver and somewhere I’m always excited to recommend. As someone who loves sushi, I appreciate how intentional everything feels—from the quality of the fish, which is flown in fresh from Japan, to the presentation of every dish. The space itself feels moody and elegant, which makes the entire experience feel elevated from the moment you walk in.

The first time I dined there, I learned that the staff speak Japanese with the chefs in the kitchen, which I thought was such a unique and thoughtful detail. Between the atmosphere, incredible food, and attention to detail, Kumoya is one of those places that feels memorable long after you leave.
